Smart irrigation infrastructure saves city water and improves public spaces for inhabitants and visitors
Councils and governments are conscious about the significance of improving public areas, not only to reduce costs, but also to show their commitment with inhabitants and tourists that visit their cities. This is one of the main reasons why Smart infrastructure within cities is more than a phenomena, it’s a reality and a trend that every urban centre wants to follow.
In this project each zone of the city park was studied and analyzed in order to know its specific needs. The Smart irrigation system is controlled and monitored thanks to different soil moisture sensors which measure humidity and water flow in strategic points of the area. The new management system has created a 25% cut down in the water usage and has contributed to enhance the overall environment. Controlling the irrigation system and detecting any incidents is checked in real-time.
