Data Buoys

Data buoys offer an excellent solution for the monitoring of environmental (such as water quality) and weather conditions in either freshwater or saltwater based environments. They offer a ruggedly constructed floating platform, perfectly suited for New Zealand’s often harsh outdoor environments. Sensors, sondes and other instruments attached to data buoys using buoy mounted solar power for long term monitoring. Adroit data buoy solutions use a combination of buoy and sensor antifouling products, coatings and wiper systems to achieve lower than industry average maintenance requirements.
Example applications of data buoys include temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen monitoring, dredge turbidity monitoring, limnology research, and weather monitoring on any body of water. Data buoys are also compact platforms with convenient tower mounting for met sensors, navigation lights, radar reflectors, cameras and other monitoring instruments.
