Water Sensors

Adroit utilises a broad range of devices, technology and high-performance sensors to deploy IoT solutions with unique real-time water quality monitoring capabilities.

Water is one of the most valuable resources on earth, management of this resource is a vital foundation to many sectors of the world’s economy, such as aquaculture, primary industries and recreation. Water sensors play a significant role in monitoring water quality and pollution, metering, usage, and flood detection. Adroit supplies a broad range of devices that deliver high performing solutions to meet the requirements of almost every Smart Water Monitoring need, even in New Zealand’s harshest locations and conditions. Our sensors can be deployed from riverbanks, bridges, floating barges, data buoys,
or be plumbed inline into existing water processing equipment and systems. We primarily recommend Libelium equipment in our kit solutions, which use high quality sensors from leading manufacturers such as Aqualabo, In-Situ, Proteus Instruments, and Bosch.

Typical parameters water sensors measure

  • pH
  • Dissolved Oxygen Temperature
  • Turbidity
  • Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Chloride
  • Total Ammonia
  • NH3
  • NH4
  • Salinity
  • Total Suspended Solids (TTS)
  • Flow/Volume
  • Nitrate

S..can water sensors

s::can was founded by Andreas Weingartner in 1999 and is based in Vienna, Austria. In 2020 Badger Meter, a global provider of industry leading water solutions acquired s::can, merging the companies to enable further growth and success.

s::can water quality monitoring systems are now available in more than 50 countries servicing the whole water industry, from drinking water to environmental to wastewater. With over 10,000 systems sold worldwide, s::can is the global leader in online optical water monitoring systems.

Adroit recommends the use of s::can products as part of an IoT solution where optical sensors are required to provide accurate, reliable and low maintenance monitoring of complex parameters such as Nitrates, Biological Oxygen Demand, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Total Suspended Solids, Total Organic Carbon, Dissolved Organic Carbon etc.. (N03-N, BOD, COD, TSS, TS, TOC, DOC, CODF, UV254/F)

s::can sensors can be deployed in waterways such as streams, rivers and lakes. Other applications include groundwater monitoring, drinking water and wastewater monitoring.

Leading European IoT manufacturer Aqualabo designs a wide range of high quality water analysis, testing devices and instruments.

Leading European IoT manufacturer Aqualabo designs a wide range of high quality water analysis, testing devices and instruments. The reliable, highly accurate and easy-to-use equipment is produced in France and delivered to more than 50 distributors worldwide. Aqualabo has extensive experience, both in the field and in the laboratory, enabling Aqualabo to create an evolutionary range of innovative IoT products for all water testing needs. Adroit recommends Aqualabo products when high quality, accurate and reliable sensors are required in single or multiple stand-alone configurations.

Accurate and affordable, these robust groundwater nitrate sensors

HydroMetrics is a division of Lincoln Agritech Ltd, a research and development company owned by Lincoln University, New Zealand. Since 2015 Hydrometrics engineers have worked alongside hydrogeologists to design and develop cost effective optical nitrate sensor products primarily for the New Zealand market. Accurate and affordable, these robust groundwater nitrate sensors are specifically built for environmental, agricultural and industrial uses. Adroit recommends use of the HydroMetrics sensor in outdoor environments as it is specifically designed to withstand typically New Zealand conditions. Adroit has integrated the HydroMetrics sensor to the Libelium Plug & Sense controller and developed a custom solar power kit, so the sensor can be installed and left in-field for months at a time to transmit real-time data to the Adroit IoT Platform.
